Little Indies Discovery School has resumed on Wednesdays.
The three hour nature-based sessions offer a teacher-led discovery experience for children aged 3 to 4 in natural bushland surroundings.
Children explore three different areas on campus – Inside the Gate; Outside The Gate and Off for an Adventure learning through play, creativity, art and environment.
Operating out of the MRIS Kindergarten, Little Indies was introduced at MRIS seven years ago.
The innovative nature-based school is breaking new ground by offering education through active play in the natural world.
Inspired by the school’s bush surroundings and the European tradition of nature-based schools, Little Indies embraces an educational programme which reflects current research showing children who regularly play outdoors are happier, smarter and healthier.
MRIS is recognised for Best Practice in Early Childhood Education by the Association of Independent Schools WA and Little Indies is guided by highly qualified and experienced Early Childhood Teacher, Helen Ewing. Helen is supported by an Education Assistant.
“Little Indies is your child’s opportunity to explore the world outside their family in safe, happy and stimulating surroundings, where they are valued for their individual qualities and interests,” MRIS Principal Wendy Roediger said.
There are limited 2019 places available for the programme.
For more information and enrolments phone the school on 9757 7515.
MRIS is also taking registrations of interest for Little Indies in future years.
