Outdoor Connections at MRIS!

Developing MRIS student s enjoyed the sunshine on Thursday as they took their learning outside as part of National Outdoor Classroom Day.                                                To celebrate this global movement, aimed  at inspiring outdoor play and learning, students participated in their regular lessons as well as a relaxing Sound Bowls session with parent, Ute Coleman, shelter making, and mud-pie making.                                                                                                  Principal Wendy Roediger said students utilised the school’s own Outdoor Classroom which is becoming a very popular space on campus.  “Students feel a real connection to nature and benefit from the calming effect of this when they are outdoors. It is exciting to see children working together creatively, collaborating and valuing each other’s different strengths – it builds a real sense of self.”
