Celebrating the Noongar season of Kambarang was the focus of Bush School day at MRIS recently.
Year 1 and 2 students were kept busy outdoors with parent-run workshops starting off with an energetic bush dance.
Rotational activities included snake awareness and first aid, bush tucker foraging and cooking, shelter building and printing.
The day ended with a reflection circle where the children were asked to share their favourite part of the day and the consensus was ‘everything!’. Year 2 teacher Kate Appleton said the students worked together as a team and showed enthusiasm and creativity on the day.
