‘Everyone belongs’ is the theme for this year’s Harmony Day . Held on March 21 Day , this event celebrates Australia’s cultural diversity. It’s about inclusiveness, respect and a sense of belonging . Yr 6 is embracing this theme by creating a Harmony Tree which will be decorated with different coloured thumbprints from each student signifying unity.
Yr 6 teacher Laura Nicholls said
students would be asked to give a gold coin donation to;
Wear orange for the day
wear odd socks
come in cultural dress.
Money raised will go to MRIS’s sponsor child, Mohammed.
“Harmony Day creates a great opportunity for all of us to think, talk about and recognise how our differences make Australia a great place to live.” Laura said
