Sparking the curiosity of MRIS students about what it means to be an author, and a demonstration of cultural burning in the school’s bush were among two interesting events held at MRIS recently.
Jasper Dutton and Joy Nilsson-Linne (Yr 2) joined Readers &Writers author, Kylie Howarth to learn about her experience as an author while pictured below is Wayne Webb from the Undalup Association who co-hosted a Cultural Fire & Biodiversity Management Workshop on campus with MRIS’s new Bushland Management Officer Cass Jury. The group made drip torches from the balga tree (grass tree) and used peppy tree branches to control flare ups.
