Learning outside the classroom was back on the agenda when MRIS Bush School reconvened last week.
Bush School is a new program run in conjunction with the recently constructed Nyindamurra Nature Trail. Teacher, Ashley Williamson said students engaged in sustainable practices in the school’s local environment. Students rotated through four workshops facilitated by parents. Workshops focused on fungi, bush medicine, botanical drawing and mixing a biodynamic soil improver using native leaves, molasses and straw. “Students arrive excited and enthusiastic for a day of hands-on learning,” Ashley said. An overnight camp will be held next term.
