A high survival rate of previously planted natives at Redgate Beach was celebrated by the Year 4 class from MRIS today – a result of their ‘Adopt a Spot’ program.
Environmental Education Officer, Tracey Muir said there had been a 90-95% survival rate amongst the plantings which was an excellent outcome.
The class continues to monitor their adopted “care spot” as part of the Nature Conservation Margaret River ‘Adopt a Spot’ program which runs in all schools across the Cape-to-Cape region. Students work regularly on the area to establish native plants, clear rubbish, weed out invasive plants and rebuild dune areas.
