MRIS student Arlo Greenspan was named Runner-Up Yr 4 Champion Boy at the Interschool Athletics Showcase in Cowaramup recently. Competing in long jump, 400m, 100m sprint and relay, Arlo demonstrated his athletic talent. The event featured teams from Cowaramup, Rapids Landing, Margaret River Primary School, and, participating for the first time, the combined Leeuwin team—made up of students from St.Thomas More CPS, MRIS, Augusta PS and Karridale PS.
MRIS sent 21 students who had excelled at the recent small schools carnival. The Leeuwin team placed third overall, finishing ahead of Cowaramup. MRIS Principal,
Rachel Fox, said it was a fantastic event with an opportunity for friendly competition, skill development, and participation in a range of track and field events alongside peers from across the region.
