MRIS was the only South-west school to receive a visit from Martin Luther King 111 last week. The global human rights activist inspired the
enthusiastic crowd with a speech about
non-violence and equity before taking a walk on the
Nyindamurra Nature Trail.
Students handed out peace cranes and exchanged pen-pal details with Mr King’s 9 year old daughter, Yolanda. Principal Wendy Roediger said “the school was thrilled to host Mr King’s visit saying his message of equity and ‘content of character’ reflected our school priorities beautifully.”
