Family fun was the theme of the recent MRIS Dads’ Group’s Family Camp held at Busselton. 15 families enjoyed water sports on Geographe Bay as well as beach walks, cycling, skating and fishing as part of the Fathering Project. The overnight camp is one of a number of activities organised by the Dads’ Group for 2023. Other upcoming activities include a mountain biking BBQ, a trip to Gravity Trampolines and a Dad’s Camp at Manjimup Animal Farmstay. Group representative, Anton Oud said fathers from each year group have stepped up as representatives forming a strong group of dedicated Dads committed to supporting the school community and improving father and family relationships and connectedness. “We have a wide range of activities planned, designed to promote fun, teamwork, and community-building. These activities will be enjoyable for the kids and also have a positive impact on their learning and development,” Anton said. “MRIS Dads’ Group is a great way for Dads to make stronger bonds with their own kids whilst connecting with other fathers – we can change lives through better fathering.” For further information on the Fathering Project https://thefatheringproject.org/about-us/our-mission/ or ring the office 97577515.
