MRIS’s Year 5/6 students were among a number of schools attending ‘BioBlitz’ held in a local A class reserve last week.
Students were treated to talks by different scientists focusing on our local environment, Aboriginal heritage, flora and fauna and included our studies of macroinverterbrates.
MRIS teacher Sean Allen said many of the presenters, most of them scientists, remarked at the depth of knowledge that MRIS students had about local species of flora and fauna. “This has been a continuing topic in our science program for the last two terms.,” he said.
