Nature Pedagogy expert, Wendy Gorman enjoyed a Little Indies session

Nature Pedagogy expert, Wendy Gorman visited MRIS on Wednesday to see Our Little Indies Bush Discovery program in action!  A specialised pre-kindy program focussing on curiosity, creativity, gradual independence and resilience in the outdoors, Wendy said Little Indies was unique in that students spend 100% of their time outside. An International Nature Pedagogy Network member and AISWA’s Early Childhood Consultant, Wendy supports schools in implementing nature-based discovery schools. “Nature Pedagogy is a world-wide movement and MRIS’s Little Indies is fostering the three key components: relationships between teacher and children; a sense of community among parents; and dispositions of learning such as curiosity, persistence, enquiry and collaboration.”

Little Indies runs on Wednesday mornings for Margaret River Independent School. Phone 97577515 for further information
