Understanding water from a Dreamtime
perspective was the theme of ‘Kep Kaatijin’ a play presented by
The Yirri Yaakin Theatre Company recently at MRIS.
Students enjoyed the traditional Nyoongar stories depicted in the play.
Yirri Yaakinn is a multi-award winning theatre troupe which has toured internationally spreading the word about aboriginal culture. MRIS Principal, Wendy Roediger said the students were excited to hear authentic Nyoongar terms used for local fawna and flora. “The play was both educational and amusing” she said.
