MRIS celebrated Reconciliation Week on Wednesday with Reconciliation Week activities and lessons.
The Year 6 class learnt about the stolen generation, ‘Sorry Day’, intergenerational trauma, reconciliation, the Mabo decision, apartheid, the 1967 Referendum and Kevin Rudd’s apology in 2008. They made Reconciliation posters depicting messages to foster positive race relations and heal historical wounds as Australians move together in a unified future.
