Kindergarten predicts success says AISWA boss! 1The importance of attending kindergarten was

highlighted by AISWA (Australian Independent Schools of WA),  deputy chairperson, Ron Gorman when he briefed MRIS’s Governing Body last week.

Mr Gorman, who was recently awarded the Pre-Eminent Educational Leader Award by ACEL , said research shows that attending 15 hours a week of

kindergarten was predictive of success in future life. He said kindergarten taught children social and emotional skills which helped them to reach their greatest potential as young people. He also briefed the Governing Body on the Melbourne Declaration’s goals of schooling promoting equity and excellence, and that all young Australians become confident, creative and successful learners. The implications for all schools of the July 1, 2019 legislation on compulsory immunisation for pre-kindy and kindergarten students was also

discussed.
