AN INNOVATIVE nature-based school based in Margaret River is breaking new ground by offering education through active play in the natural world.
Little Indies Discovery School for Three year Olds is an exciting new education opportunity currently being offered by Margaret River Independent School.
Inspired by the school’s bush surroundings and the European tradition of nature-based schools, Little Indies embraces an educational programme which reflects current research showing children who regularly play outdoors are happier, smarter and healthier.
MRIS is recognised for Best Practice in Early Childhood Education by the Association of Independent Schools WA and Little Indies will be guided by highly qualified and experienced Early Childhood Teacher Debbie Pendlebury, who currently teaches Pre-Primary at the school.
Debbie will be supported by an Education Assistant and Little Indies will offer experiential learning through the natural environment, play, creativity and art.
“Little Indies is your child’s opportunity to explore the world outside their family in safe, happy and stimulating surroundings, where they are valued for their individual qualities and interests,” MRIS Principal Wendy Roediger said.
There are limited 2014 places available for the new programme and these are filling fast.
For more information and enrolments phone the school on 9757 7515.
MRIS is also taking registrations of interest for Little Indies in future years, from 2015 onwards.
