MRIS athletes showed their sporting prowess at the recent 2024 Leeuwin Interschool Sports Association (LISA) Carnival with Arlo Greenspan taking out Yr 2 Champion Boy, while Mya Pettit was awarded Yr 6 Champion Girl. The Spirit of Sport Awards, which rewards young participants in team sport for sportsmanship, fair play and mutual respect went to Felix Goddard and Mya Pettit. Field events were held on Monday at Augusta Primary School and track events were held at St Thomas More against Karridale, Augusta, Rapids Landing and St Thomas More on Wednesday. MRIS Sports Teacher, Tom Curtin said the team performed extremely well showing exemplary sportsmanship throughout the day. “The students really excelled in the team sports which is a credit to their class teachers who conducted daily training.”
